A few days ago, the environmental (carbon) footprint quantification of aluminum processing products sponsored by China non-ferrous metal industry environmental product declaration platform and China Aluminum Group High-end Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was held in Chongqing.
In recent years, with the completion of the construction and continuous landing of the "1+N" policy system of carbon peak carbon neutrality, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have also encouraged and supported central enterprises to build green low-carbon scientific and technological innovation and green low-carbon public service platforms. As an important member of the non-ferrous metals industry, Chinalco Group takes the initiative to assume the heavy responsibility of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of non-ferrous metals industry green low-carbon public service platform construction, jointly with the China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association, invited 18 units such as well-known enterprises in the industry, through the construction of "two platforms, one system and two centers", to help the non-ferrous metals industry green and low-carbon development. The quantification of the environmental (carbon) footprint of aluminum processing products helps to more accurately grasp the carbon emissions of the whole life cycle of products, and formulate more scientific and effective energy saving and emission reduction measures. Chinalco Group will join hands with upstream and downstream partners in the industrial chain to jointly build an internationally competitive carbon footprint management system for aluminum processed products, inject new momentum into the green transformation of China's aluminum industry, and contribute "Chinese wisdom" and "Chinese solutions" to global carbon neutrality.
Jia Mingxing pointed out that the quantification of the carbon footprint of aluminum processing products is not only an inevitable requirement for the implementation of the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee, but also a strategic measure to respond to the challenges of international rules and seize the commanding heights of the industry. We hope to take this meeting as an opportunity to gather the joint efforts of "government, industry, university and research", transform carbon data into green competitiveness, and contribute "China's solution" to the construction of a fair and reasonable global carbon governance system.
He Yi pointed out that lightweight and material recycling is the main path to reduce the carbon footprint of automotive products, and hopes that the future China Association of automobile manufacturers and aluminum materials and products enterprises will work together to help China's automobile carbon reduction.
