Recently, the aluminum alloy brand independently developed by Yuefeng Aluminum R & D team passed the review of the China Non-ferrous Metals Standardization Technical Committee and was officially registered as 6B82. The alloy was developed by Yuefeng Aluminum National Technology Center and Yuefeng Aluminum Research Institute Doctor team, on April 24, 2024 officially submitted to the National Non-ferrous Metal Standardization Technical Committee for alloy registration application, after review, publicity and other procedures, successfully registered on September 14, 2024.
Due to its high strength, 6082 alloy is widely used in automobile body structure, but there are problems of poor extrusion performance and insufficient collision performance. In the automobile body structure, the section design is more and more complicated, and the cavity is more and more, at the same time, the requirement of collision performance is also higher and higher for safety consideration. At present, the 6082 alloy composition in the national standard GB/T 3199 can no longer meet these latest technical requirements. To this end, Yuefeng Aluminum has carried out a new composition design for 6082 alloy, and developed a new grade 6B82 after scientific and systematic tests and tests. The new alloy has the advantages of good extrusion performance, excellent welding performance and high collision performance, which is especially suitable for the manufacture of automobile body.
